In my over 30 years as a dedicated nurse and extensive involvement on numerous community boards, I've witnessed the strength, resilience, and incredible spirit of our community. Now, more than ever, we are at a pivotal moment where our shared values of openness, transparency, and inclusivity must guide our path forward. 

Biography
Community Engagement

  • Early member of La Clinica, playing a pivotal role in its beginning years, actively contributing to clinic operations and outreach initiatives, including the facilitation of home births and providing prenatal and postpartum care.

  • Member of the Huerfano County forum with SWEPI, the Shell Oil Community Forum actively engaging in community discussions on the impact of hydrocarbon extraction in Huerfano County

  • Invited Member of the Judicial Review Committee, State-wide Judicial Review Committee

  • Member Huerfano County Parks and Recreation Board.

  • Member of the Upper Huerfano Fire Board.

  • Local Government Designee for Huerfano County, serving as a crucial link between local government and Colorado Oil and Gas Commission.

  • Current Member of the Huerfano County Planning and Zoning Commission, actively collaborating with a diverse group of individuals representing various political persuasions to ensure a comprehensive approach to county planning.

  • Member Gardner Main Street Board, representing County P&Z, contributing to the final plan presented to the Board of County Commissioners.

  • Public Health Nurse in Huerfano County, focusing on immunizations and routine clinic services, such as well-child checks and allergy clinics. Played an important role in supporting the community's health through these essential healthcare services.

  • One of the founding participants in La Clinica, Gardner, CO, emphasizing personalized care and community engagement.
